JMR requires that all equipment be fully secured by either a Certificate of Insurance or a Major Credit Card for the replacement value.
Certificate of Insurance
JMR requires a Certificate of Insurance on all rental orders. Renters accept full responsibility for any loss or damage including cost of repairs or replacement due to damage or theft while in the renter’s possession. Insurance coverage is the responsibility of the renter and proof of adequate coverage for Full Replacement Value of the equipment will be required prior to rental.
General Liability must be included with a minimum coverage for one-million dollars, and coverage must be for “Miscellaneous Rented Equipment, Rented Camera Equipment, Rented or Leased Equipment, as well as Property Covered Off-Premises”. The Certificate of Insurance must also reflect a Limit of Coverage that insures your current rental and the per claim deductible.
Insurance policy must extend coverage a minimum of one week past the scheduled return date. Name on Insurance Policy must match the credit card and name on the rental contract.
JMR Equipment Rental must be listed as the certificate holder and loss/payee:
JMR Equipment Rentals, 168 53rd St. Suite 101 Brooklyn, NY 11232
Policies with “Unattended Vehicle Disclaimers” will not be accepted.
International Certificates of Insurance will not be accepted.
All insurance and forms must be submitted 24 hours prior to pick-up date and are subject to verification and approval by management before any equipment is released. Note that Insurance Certificates can only be verified Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some online Certificates of Insurance cannot be verified, please inquiry.

Rental Equipment Coverage: This is the amount of coverage for equipment that is rented. As a general rule, this number should be higher than the combined replacement value of all equipment. Be sure to select the $1,000,000 liability coverage if needed.
Deductible: This amount will be your responsibility in the event of an insurance claim. As an example, if you have a $500 deductible and claim $1300, your insurance company will only pay $800. Make your choice of deductible amount based on the amount you feel comfortable paying in the event of a loss or damage.
Theft from an unlocked vehicle: Some policies do not cover theft from an unlocked vehicle. Be sure to check the boxes for unattended vehicle waiver and loss of use.
Certificate Holder: JMR Equipment Rental must be listed as the certificate holder and loss/payee:
JMR Equipment Rentals, 168 53rd St. Suite 101 Brooklyn, NY 11232
CREDIT CARD HOLD
A hold can be placed on the credit card if an insurance policy isn't provided for the replacement value on the equipment rented.. The hold may take up to seven days to clear once the hold is placed on the card.
Accepted credit cards are Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover Card (we do not accept checks).
